Transferring my 95 year old dad from wheelchair to car and vice versa has become a hair raising event for both of us. This device (plus a tubular sliding sheet) have made this much safer and easier. The main problem I had was sliding the seat end under my seated dad, when I don’t have help, due to fact the seat. … slides. The sliding sheet helps a lot and I made this simple locking device out of some scrap PVC 5.5” x 3/4” molding to block the slide (PVC is light).Another hack was using foam balance pad (16”x13.2”x2.6”) to raise the height of the wheel chair to a bit higher than the car seat.
