I was a little hesitant on this order…it was a bit expensive but it looked like it was a sturdy, robust looking unit. I compared it to a couple others a little cheaper. I am glad I ordered this one. It came very quickly and I set it up –unpacking and all in about 20 minutes. I can walk ok but I have spinal artritis and I have to sit down after about 10 minutes walking. I am a fairly big guy..6 ft and 315 lbs. I like the seat on this unit. I tried it out yesterday in a real world test….my great grand daughter had her school spring fair…out door games, food and entertainment. I used this walker with no trouble. It stows just fine in the back of my Explorer….I did not have to disassemble it at all. It really took my anxiety away…before I was always looking for a place to sit, so it hampered me on limiting to nearby seating. With this rollator I traveled all around the school yard. The terrain had a few bumps and odd steps and the wheels took them very well. I had a great seat for all the events. The seat is quite comfortable and a nice height for me…easy to get up and out. I am very happy with this unit…I am glad I did not buy the cheapest unit. This one does very nicely.

I wanted to wait until I had used it to review it.First, I had knee surgery in October. In the weeks prior to surgery, the doctors told me I would be “nonweight bearing” for six weeks after surgery. I had NO IDEA what “nonweight bearing” actually meant. I thought I could use crutches.NOPE. Literally NO weight can be put on the leg. AT ALL. Or, the delicate repair would be obliterated. When I tried to stand and use crutches prior to leaving the hospital after surgery, I got a hint what the next six weeks held for me. When I got home, I went to the couch and when I tried to get up a few hours later, I couldn’t get up.Pure panic set in.I got online and learned that many people who had the same surgery said the only way to stay nonweight bearing was to never leave the bed … or get a walker with a seat.I got on Galenus Medical and after lots of review reading, I bought this.It arrived two days later. My husband had it assembled in less than 30 minutes. This allowed me to get up from the couch and remain nonweight bearing. From there, we were able to get me to the lift chair we ordered the day before. The last seven weeks, this walker served as a wheelchair, of sorts.I absolutely give this chair credit for my successful recovery from surgery.Why?1. I was very unsteady in the beginning and often would drop heavily onto the seat several times daily.2. I wheeled myself around grabbing at walls and such to assist movement. It was not only a smooth movement, but the swivel wheels allowed for maneuvering myself completely around to change direction.3. The handle brake let me keep it steady when I needed it, but a quick release let me move.4. The back bar was invaluable when I was trying to stand from a lower sitting situation because my husband could grab it, with both hands and hold the front down as I pulled myself up. It WILL tip toward you without that counterweight, trust me.5. The foldable aspect of it allowed my husband to carry it up and down the stairs when I finally figured out how to slide/climb up and down the 17 stairs from the main floor to our bedroom.6. While seated in a chair or on the bed, the walker seat served as a place to rest my foot as I began physical therapy exercises, still maintaining nonweight bearing.7. Once I was cleared to start bearing weight this week, but only at 25 percent of normal weight bearing, this became my walker. I use it for stability as my repaired knee tries to remember how to walk. I stand up, grab the handles, and try to walk across the room totally clumsy and awkward and in pain. I have had some moments where I had to stop immediately and sit, because my leg just went all directions. Having the ability to quickly sit and then wheel myself back to my chair has been a big deal. I even use it, with a throw pillow to elevate the leg and put ice on the knee. The walker does fit through standard door frames, but it’s tight. It’s easier with our sliding pocket door.We check all nuts and bolts weekly.I can’t speak to a usage time of more than a few months, because this is a temporary situation for me.But, I have really tested its limits by knocking into walls, scraping the wheel bolts down walls, and plopping myself into it all the time, and I’m not a small person. This is fairly lightweight to carry, says my husband. I have lifted it myself to move it and it’s lighter than I expected. All this and it’s a fraction of buying one from a medical supplier.Update: I continue to need both crutches to get around. I can’t walk without them. The walker now serves as a way for me to move food or other things to and from my chair. Ever try to carry a plate or glass of water in your hand while also gripping crutches? It doesn’t work.I have a small tray that fits on the seat, and I use the walker to go into the kitchen and get fresh healthy food.I can work the knee and also get food. The walker is still a work beast.

Overall a great product in durability and stability. I have had this product since November 2017 without any major issues or the need to replace parts. It has a nice smooth ride. I had a little trouble folding and putting in my car and it is so big that it is not convenient to maneuver in most places –including my own apartment. It is not the products fault, the world is not handicap friendly in terms of space for walkers and wheelchairs. I highly recommend this product and its great….until a part wears out. It will more than likely be a wheel since that gets the most wear and tear.So you call Medline to get the part you need. You will need your model number to order. It will be a sticker on your walker, see picture 1. It will start MDS. When I called I was put on hold over and over and sent to three different call agents. I had to order a rear wheel. It was $18.33 for the wheel and 7.95 S&H. You can pay through insurance or credit card. They were trying to give me a shipping date but they could not see it for some reason. You do get a order confirmation number so have pen and paper ready because that will be all you have to check on your order, also by phone. They will also give you the part #, fyi a rear wheel for this product is MDS86800XWRW. I was told to call back to get a shipping date.I ordered it on the 18th and got it on the 22nd of July. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of delivery. But that is when the pleasantries ended. The part comes in a plastic bag without any instructions how to replace it, see picture 2 (toes not included : ) The product manual does not explain how to replace the wheel. YouTube nor Google has any instructions on how to replace the wheel. The inside has a smooth flat sliver plate, picture 3, and the outside of the wheel there is a black bump in the center of the wheel, picture 4. So it is not blatantly obvious how to replace this wheel–or at least it wasn’t to me.You will need a flat head screw driver or butter knife and I had to use needle nose pliers because I did not have ratchet set. The black bump is a cover and comes off to reveal a lug-nut. Loosen that lug-nut, remove, and then take the wheel off. My wheel was wrecked as you can tell from the parts left after removing the wheel, picture 5. Remove all the old wheel parts left, the black plastic comes off too but leave it on, picture 6.Don’t be dumb like me and try to remove the screw in the leg. I used a hammer, etc and ruined the threads. After 30 minutes of experimentation & realization, I discovered a simpler solution. Do not try to use the screw that comes in the plastic bag. Simply put the washer back on the screw in place, put the new wheel on and put the old lug-nut back on or use the one from the new screw. Replace the black cover and your good to go.I bent my screw and ruined threads trying to remove the screw, that is welded into the frame, before I realized the screw was welded into the frame and not coming out. So forget trying to take the screw in the frame out and replacing the screw, just replace the wheel. My screw was fine–until I went hammer time on it. Now I may have to buy a new walker if I cannot buy the specific frame part.I emailed info@medline. com to find out if it was possible to order that piece of the frame. Do not waste your time emailing. Instead of answering the question “yes” or “no” or saying, “that question is too involved to answer over email, please call so we can help you”. I got a snarky reply telling me to call customer service if I had any questions.I called Medline 7/30/19. Let me give a shout out Heather, the call agent and Brian, the product assist. You guys rock! Five star customer service! They were very nice and helpful. They went above and beyond to help me. You can just buy the part of the frame, part # for left rear wheel section, MDS86800XWRWA. It’s $50 plus 7.95 S&H.The frame is lifetime warranty so Heather wanted to send me to quality control but I told her it was not faulty equipment just me going hammer time. I mention this because if your frame has issues, that were not caused by you, then it is probably under warranty. Me, I cannot be covered under warranty because I caused damage while trying to replace a part.So now the decision to buy a whole new walker for $100, the part for $60 or a different walker cheaper in price. I like the durability and stability of this one so I will probably buy this model again, if I decide to buy a new walker, since I know the performance level and now know how to properly change a rear wheel on this specific model 😉

I love this rollator. I had some nerve damage in my leg, after hip surgery. It steadies me when I walk. The rollator folds up easily and can be put in the back of the car, I use it when we walk in the park, I can sit down if I get tired. I also use it when I sit outside. The seat flips up and there is quite a bit of storage. I put everything I need in the rollator an wheel it outside instead of carrying everything. It is acutally larger than I needed but I like the larger size. This was a good purchase.
