Whether you’re seeking a compact model for daily use or a more robust option for extended travel, we have a variety of mobility scooters to meet your unique needs.

Choosing the Right Mobility Scooter

Choosing the right mobility scooter is a critical decision that depends on several factors. First, consider your intended use—will you primarily use it indoors, outdoors, or both? For indoor use, look for models with a tight turning radius and compact dimensions to navigate hallways and doorways easily. For outdoor use, prioritize scooters with larger wheels, better suspension, and a longer distance range for uneven terrain or longer trips. Weight capacity is another key consideration; ensure the scooter can support your weight comfortably. Additionally, think about portability—do you need a model that folds or disassembles for transport? Comfort features like adjustable seats, armrests, and tillers also play a role in ensuring a personalized fit. Our team at Galenus Medical is here to guide you through these considerations to find the perfect mobility scooter for your lifestyle.

FAA Compliance for Travel

FAA compliance is a vital aspect for those planning to travel with their mobility scooters. Many of our mobility scooters feature FAA-compliant lithium-ion batteries, typically limited to 300 watt-hours (Wh) for the primary battery, with the option to carry one spare battery not exceeding 300 Wh or two spare batteries not exceeding 160 Wh each. This compliance ensures you can safely board flights with your mobility scooter, making travel more accessible. When selecting a model, check the battery specifications to confirm it meets airline requirements, and always consult with your airline in advance to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Battery Wattage, Sizes, and Charging

Battery specifications are a key factor in the performance of mobility scooters. Our models come with varying battery wattages and sizes to suit different needs. Standard battery options often include 12 amp-hour (Ah) or 15 amp-hour batteries, providing a solid range for daily use. For extended travel, some scooters offer higher-capacity options, such as 249.6 Wh lithium-ion batteries, often configured as a single battery or, in some models, dual batteries for increased power and range. Charging is straightforward—most mobility scooters come with a charger that plugs into a standard household outlet, typically requiring 6-8 hours for a full charge. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for charging to maintain battery health and ensure optimal performance.

Distance Range of Mobility Scooters

The distance range of mobility scooters varies by model and battery size. Standard models, such as those with a 12 Ah battery, may offer a per-charge range of up to 7.25 miles, ideal for short trips or daily errands. For longer journeys, some of our scooters, especially those with larger or dual batteries (e.g., 249.6 Wh x 2), can travel up to 22 miles on a single charge. Range depends on factors like user weight, terrain, speed, and weather conditions, so consider your typical travel distance when selecting a model to ensure it meets your needs.

Standard vs. Heavy-Duty Mobility Scooters

Standard and heavy-duty mobility scooters cater to different user requirements. Standard mobility scooters are lighter, more compact, and designed for general use, with weight capacities typically ranging from 250 to 300 pounds. They’re ideal for users who need a versatile, easy-to-maneuver option for daily activities. Heavy-duty mobility scooters, by contrast, are built for greater durability, offering higher weight capacities (often 350 to 500 pounds) and stronger frames to handle rougher terrain or heavier loads. These models may have larger motors, enhanced suspension, and bigger wheels for stability, making them perfect for outdoor enthusiasts or those needing extra support.

Mobility Scooter Sizes and Small Doorways

Mobility scooter sizes vary to accommodate different environments and user preferences. Standard width sizes for mobility scooters typically range from 20 to 25 inches, making them suitable for most home and public spaces. However, for individuals concerned about navigating small doorways, such as those measuring 28 inches wide, we recommend selecting a compact model with a width of 22 inches or less. Seat height is another consideration, with most models offering adjustable seats, typically ranging from 17 to 22 inches, to ensure comfort and proper ground clearance. Adjustable features allow you to customize the fit for optimal ergonomics and ease of use, especially in tight spaces.

Folding Mobility Scooters for Transport

For those who value portability, folding mobility scooters are an excellent choice for transport. These lightweight models, often weighing as little as 42 pounds, can be folded or disassembled quickly, making them ideal for travel, whether by car, plane, or other means. Folding mobility scooters are designed to fit in trunks or storage compartments, offering convenience without sacrificing functionality. Many of our FAA-compliant models are also foldable, combining portability with travel-ready features for ultimate flexibility.

The scooter and packaging (together) weighs about 250 lbs (it’s very well packed!) so you need help if possible. My wife did it all herself (but it you get help, you’ll be glad you did!).My scooter was in great shape. All parts were there, and what assembly there was, was relatively easy (again, done by my wife – I’m the crippled guy). Once it was out of the packaging, and in the house, we charged the batteries for 12 hours (VERY IMPORTANT!). These are deep charge batteries, it’s a special charger meant to take advantage of this, so USE IT PROPERLY!. Once received, put together (easy), and charged, it’s ready to go!It’s very easy to maneuver, and turns quickly (use eco setting and “rabbit” setting to slow it down to get out of the house). We have rough gravel in the back of our house, but my scooter handles it beautifully! I have to keep it in ECO setting to keep for flying off “the mountain” (but outside, I take it off “rabbit”).Since I park it inside (no way am I leaving an “electric” scooter in the rain!) I’m glad it handles my ramp to the porch well (the ramp has sharp turns in it – which it handles well). You might want to get “entry ramps” like they get for wheelchairs. The entry from my porch is about 1.5″ high (which my scooter handled, but VERY bumpy – I’m glad I took care of an “excess water” before it got here). So far, it’s everything I hoped for! I’ll update this rating as I go along, but since I try to follow directions, I don’t expect problems.

I purchased this scooter because I was having knee replacement surgery and would not be able to take my 9 month old Australian Shepard on his daily walks, If he does not burn up his energy walking he finds other ways to burn it up which result in a big mess. I am 6’5″ 230 so I was afraid I may be too big for the scooter, I am not. It runs fine with me. We live in Florida so there are not a lot of hills but the couple I do encounter are no match for this scooter. The charge lasts almost the entire week, we walk, he walks I ride, about 3.5 miles a day. I choose this scooter because of how it breaks down. I was afraid it would not be easy to break down but it is very easy so take apart and put back together, make it very easy for traveling, I did not have to purchase an expensive carrier for my car. I would highly recommend this scooter

  3. BRitchey

The Pride Revo is extremely comfortable and drives very smoothly. I researched scooters for several months and was so relieved to find this one. After shopping through three different stores, the battery indicator hasn’t moved a single bar. I’m 100% glad I chose this scooter; it has already changed the quality of life for me. DONT HESITATE TO BUY THIS SCOOTER !The people at Automobility are fantastic ! I got my scooter the very next day after ordering!

First, let me start with the GOOD. This is a powerful scooter. I have tested the 400 pound weight limit and it actually exceeds that (no I don’t weigh that much, I used weights). It’s faster then 5 MPH and it’s suspension and motor is powerful enough to go over curved curbs. It does great on gravel and grass. Just make sure the ground is not wet or like any vehicle you can get bogged down.It has red light that turn on in the back when in motion. It comes apart easily for portability especially in trunks. All and all, it’s a good scooter. Now for the bad news. Pride Mobility prides itself on making its products non-universal so you have to use their accessories. While the screws holes for the mirrors are 8M, they are not universal thread. You will have to buy a 8M 1.25 borr and re-thread the hole to a universal thread. Otherwise you can only use that one mirror they sell.Don’t get fooled with it’s false advertisement of coming standard with under seat storage. It does not. It just advertises it. Good luck finding said storage to buy and mount also. Still haven’t found that.Their 1″ receiver is not universal size ether. So you can only mount one thing at a time. Meaning, if you buy a canopy, don’t buy a rear basket. You have no where to mount it.They don’t even bother making an adaptor to buy so you can use multiple accessories at once. When you call Pride Mobility, they refer you to their Galenus Medical store for accessories. However, they’re Galenus Medical store doesn’t even have a section for accessories. You have to know the exact Item your looking for.All in all, good scooter, bad company, customer service, and accessories.

I have used this scooter for a year and the batterys are failing. We started seeing problems just months into use, and they originally sent a pair of replacement batteries, but after two months the same issue persisted. Afterwards, when we asked them to fix or replace the problem, they stared insisting that such behavior from batteries is normal and expected. As the issue couldn’t be solved with just the batteries we wrote a list of possible problems and contacted the sellers for a thorough maintenance, but they refused to compensate. Though the scooter was still within the warranty time, they did not do anything. Keep in mind that I did buy their warranty for the entire scooter, there was a guarantee of 2 years for the battery and an overall warranty of 5 years. They’re escaping their responsibilities and refusing to accept that there’s a problem, even dismissing our proposed problems. The communications started off well but ended with a terrible attitude.
