Sturdy, durable, portable, light weight. Easily converts from walker to wheelchair when needed.

We haven’t used this much, but if you want a little foldable wheelchair, this seems perfect. My girlfriend has seizures, so having self controlled wheels isn’t really helpful. She loves how it feels on her back and her feet and will use it as a chair at the dog park. If she has a seizure, I can just scoot her away without having to carry her. Very nice design. I can throw it in my car. Purchased used like new and it appeared new to me. Still had plastic covers and stuff. The other model, the nitro sprint, is a little awkward. You have to remove the back rest to sit on it and be pushed. If you can’t quite afford this one, try the open box models.

My wife has a variant of Parkinson’s, and had tried other walkers. This one works so well we now own two, one for the house, and one we keep in the back of the car so it is always with us when we go out. The fact that it folds to just 8 inches thick or so makes it easy to transport. The build quality is excellent, brakes work well, it is a great example of good engineering, as it is both sturdy and lightweight. This item is perfect for those with conditions that allow them to walk but who tire quickly, as this allows for a rapid conversion from walker to pushable wheelchair.

I purchased this product for my elderly mother’s use during recent holiday trip. She is legally blind and has very limited mobility, especially in unfamiliar places. I was excited about extra room the duet allowed in traveling vehicle eliminating need to haul separate rollator and wheelchair for her assistance. The front wheels bent during first wheelchair use leaving her without assistance for remaining 2 weeks of trip. The wheelchair has 300 lbs weight limit. My mother weighs less than half that weight! When I called product support number as directed by amazon, a recording redirected me to online chat forum before disconnecting call. I immediately identified the issue and expressed concern about faulty design. After spending over a hour in online chat with “support agent,” I was told they “were the manufacturer and you will need to contact the company that sold you the product.” As previously stated, Galenus Medical’s instructions were to call product support number (from which I was disconnected after digitally being redirected to online chat forum) and/or visit product support website (which is online chat forum). Needless to say, my 86 year old mother and I struggled throughout rest of trip and were forced to alter planned events due to failure of product purchased for transporting her. Words cannot express how disappointed and frustrated we both are in not only the product, but more importantly the lack of customer service/support. Not only did my mother miss out on a trip of a lifetime to which she had been looking forward for months, we now have a useless product no one is willing to stand behind. I would not recommend anyone purchasing this product regardless of how enticing the idea of it’s dual purpose sounds!

We love the original DRIVE folding walker but it was always difficult if my wife needed to sit while I pushed her. She would be facing me which was great for conversation but not ideal for travelling. When we saw one of these while on a Cruise, we immediately ordered it when returning to land. It is much lighter than a standard wheelchair and works great as a folding walker. (Only comes in RED though.) When walking through a small store, the way it folds and still works as a walker is wonderful. But when she needs to sit and be pushed, the conversion to wheelchair with foot supports is very quick and easy. It also travels well on airplanes as ‘checked luggage’. The only downside to be aware of is that unlike a normal wheelchair, she can’t propel herself. (That’s what you give up without the heavy big wheels). This is a great device and if you are looking at just ‘walkers’, definitely give this a second look.
