Good for sleeping. Very difficult to move around on. Very difficult to get to the side of the bed without help.

With a hospital bed, you need something that can flex and bend with the bed settings, but be sturdy and resilient at the edges, for transfers on and off or movement, and also is pressure-balanced, and for many, not vulnerable to moisture. Not easy to find, but so far, this one is working in all these ways. Time will tell about long term quality, nut I have to say I’m quite impressed so far, and so are my joints, etc.!It has multilayered foam types inside, and the edges are able to yield to movement but they don’t collapse. This has been a big problem for me with other mattresses for hospital beds, and this is the first that holds real promise of meeting all those needs. I’m loving it!

This mattress is comfortable to sleep on! It’s made of memory foam, which I absolutely love. Memory foam cradles you as you sink in a little. This mattress has a zippered vinyl cover that is breathable but also water resistant. It’s easier to get on top of because it is not as thick as traditional mattresses. However, the 6 inch thickness is thick enough to feel like a 12 inch thick mattress. My great grandmother has been living here for two weeks, and when she saw this, she said “I just knew you would find my bed. Now I can sleep well,” and she has! She has dementia, but I feel as if she was telling me that the bed is perfect. She has been more alert in the mornings, and I wonder if it has to do with the bed.Personally, I really liked watching the mattress go from a compressed rolled-up state to a mattress that is now too thick and big for the box. Little things like that amuse me. :)NOTE: The box arrives with a big sticker message telling you to open it within 14 days. Look in the box for a packing slip containing a plastic letter opener with a blade. You will need that to open the plastic wrapping safely! I did not notice the packing slip until I was ready to throw out the box. It would have been easier to use than scissors. Mine was taped to the inside-end of the box that remained closed. It would be better if it was taped to one end of plastic mattress wrapper so it will come out of the box along with the mattress, making it noticeable. Scissors are hard to slide into the plastic as it is decompressing while trying not to poke into the mattress cover.
