Our commitment to fast, reliable delivery ensures you can enjoy your new mobility scooter quickly and conveniently, arriving at your doorstep within just a few days. Whether you’re seeking a compact model for daily use or a more robust option for extended travel, we have a variety of mobility scooters to meet your unique needs.

Choosing the Right Mobility Scooter

Choosing the right mobility scooter is a critical decision that depends on several factors. First, consider your intended use—will you primarily use it indoors, outdoors, or both? For indoor use, look for models with a tight turning radius and compact dimensions to navigate hallways and doorways easily. For outdoor use, prioritize scooters with larger wheels, better suspension, and a longer distance range for uneven terrain or longer trips. Weight capacity is another key consideration; ensure the scooter can support your weight comfortably. Additionally, think about portability—do you need a model that folds or disassembles for transport? Comfort features like adjustable seats, armrests, and tillers also play a role in ensuring a personalized fit. Our team at Galenus Medical is here to guide you through these considerations to find the perfect mobility scooter for your lifestyle.

FAA Compliance for Travel

FAA compliance is a vital aspect for those planning to travel with their mobility scooters. Many of our mobility scooters feature FAA-compliant lithium-ion batteries, typically limited to 300 watt-hours (Wh) for the primary battery, with the option to carry one spare battery not exceeding 300 Wh or two spare batteries not exceeding 160 Wh each. This compliance ensures you can safely board flights with your mobility scooter, making travel more accessible. When selecting a model, check the battery specifications to confirm it meets airline requirements, and always consult with your airline in advance to ensure a smooth travel experience.

Battery Wattage, Sizes, and Charging

Battery specifications are a key factor in the performance of mobility scooters. Our models come with varying battery wattages and sizes to suit different needs. Standard battery options often include 12 amp-hour (Ah) or 15 amp-hour batteries, providing a solid range for daily use. For extended travel, some scooters offer higher-capacity options, such as 249.6 Wh lithium-ion batteries, often configured as a single battery or, in some models, dual batteries for increased power and range. Charging is straightforward—most mobility scooters come with a charger that plugs into a standard household outlet, typically requiring 6-8 hours for a full charge. Always follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for charging to maintain battery health and ensure optimal performance.

Distance Range of Mobility Scooters

The distance range of mobility scooters varies by model and battery size. Standard models, such as those with a 12 Ah battery, may offer a per-charge range of up to 7.25 miles, ideal for short trips or daily errands. For longer journeys, some of our scooters, especially those with larger or dual batteries (e.g., 249.6 Wh x 2), can travel up to 22 miles on a single charge. Range depends on factors like user weight, terrain, speed, and weather conditions, so consider your typical travel distance when selecting a model to ensure it meets your needs.

Standard vs. Heavy-Duty Mobility Scooters

Standard and heavy-duty mobility scooters cater to different user requirements. Standard mobility scooters are lighter, more compact, and designed for general use, with weight capacities typically ranging from 250 to 300 pounds. They’re ideal for users who need a versatile, easy-to-maneuver option for daily activities. Heavy-duty mobility scooters, by contrast, are built for greater durability, offering higher weight capacities (often 350 to 500 pounds) and stronger frames to handle rougher terrain or heavier loads. These models may have larger motors, enhanced suspension, and bigger wheels for stability, making them perfect for outdoor enthusiasts or those needing extra support.

Mobility Scooter Sizes and Small Doorways

Mobility scooter sizes vary to accommodate different environments and user preferences. Standard width sizes for mobility scooters typically range from 20 to 25 inches, making them suitable for most home and public spaces. However, for individuals concerned about navigating small doorways, such as those measuring 28 inches wide, we recommend selecting a compact model with a width of 22 inches or less. Seat height is another consideration, with most models offering adjustable seats, typically ranging from 17 to 22 inches, to ensure comfort and proper ground clearance. Adjustable features allow you to customize the fit for optimal ergonomics and ease of use, especially in tight spaces.

Folding Mobility Scooters for Transport

For those who value portability, folding mobility scooters are an excellent choice for transport. These lightweight models, often weighing as little as 42 pounds, can be folded or disassembled quickly, making them ideal for travel, whether by car, plane, or other means. Folding mobility scooters are designed to fit in trunks or storage compartments, offering convenience without sacrificing functionality. Many of our FAA-compliant models are also foldable, combining portability with travel-ready features for ultimate flexibility.

Incredible range! This scooter goes fast! Very stable and easy to drive. This is the second one we have purchased, one for my wife and one for me.

First of all super speedy delivery!! Got it in 2 days insteads of the expected 2 weeks delivery date. Maybe because i live nearby the warehouse. It was actually pretty easy to put together if you understand the assembly describtion. i had to have my automechanic son figure it out, it was just the joints had more movement in them directionally then i could imagine. so play with them until you figure it to move in the direction needed. the hardest part i thought was connecting the cable from the steering column to the base of the scooter 1. it had alot of little prongs to insert into the little holes to make the connection with a screw cap into each other to make the connection tight and waterproof, sort of like a internet cable has to fit lined up properly to each other, male and female connection. 2. it was low to the ground so for a size of person i am to get down to the level was not comfortable my son helped with that too. we put the arm rest farthest out to the max and my body fits very comfortable and the seat height to the highest so my knees are lifted enough to not have my legs get that fall asleep syndrome but once all that was done and the battery fully charged it worked like a charm. i don’t think i will be using the rabbit speed though i think i might tip over on turns so i shall slow it down. i put the scooter into the back of my car myself to make sure i could do it. Success!! i had to lower the larger side of the cars middle seating to fit the length and width of the scooter. i am so glad i don’t have to get a hitch and tray behind my car for it. the horn is loud enough, lastly i am not quite 300lbs so to carry a small grandchild on my lap will be no problem not going over the weight limit for the scooter it should last a long time. Disneyland here i come. (so the yellow switch in the back of the scooter will allow the employees to move the scooter with out the key for me). i also bought a umbrella holder for protection from those blazing sunny or rainy days. Good to go!!! i can walk but after a little while of walking my feet feel like they have caught on fire, so this helps relieve that alot!!! and my hip back and syatica start hurting. LOVE LOVE my scooter!!!!! finally i ordered pink but got all 3 colors so i guess i will be able to switch it out as the erge occurs.

I like it and it works just fine. I have a bad back and on list to get both hips replaced. My trouble is that when broken down the pieces are heavier than I realized. The rear wheels/motor are heavy, but I can get them into the trunk. To get the main body down to the weight on the web page you have to remove the tiller, which is not as easy as it sounds. Your disconnecting the wires and it’s a hassle. Especially for someone with who has trouble bending down. So I keep the tiller on, which increases the base weight to 38. That is a struggle for me, and the base is awkward to lift. I’m tired of being home bound and want to regain my independence, and this scooter works fine, but it is timely and difficult for me to put it back together. Still, it works fine. If it were easier to get in and out of the car by myself and I would give it 5-stars. Something to keep in mind if you are an older lady that will be doing this by yourself.

Overall, this seems to be a good lil scooter. However, when I put it together, I saw that I didn’t receive the rubber grommet that is supposed to be on the top of the seat post, so that the seat is more stable, and it can turn. My seat is wobbly and I can’t swivel it without the rubber grommet.

I bought this scooter for Alaska and it was able to work on the scary planks uphill and downhill, on grass, dirt, and trails. It fit through the doors and it was easy to take apart and put back together and the pieces are easily lifted, except for the one piece with the wheels. It seemed heavier than 30 pounds I am 300 pounds and 5 foot 10 inches and it worked really well for me. It does not have a good turning radius.
