I love my walker. I can stand/walk more upright now. And my cat rides around the facility on the little seat haha! Its easy to maneuver, sturdy and i feel safe. The breaks work great after adjusting them.Another reviewer commented about a squeak. I notice it too occasionally but, it isn’t so bad that I wouldn’t recommend. I have RA and I was able to assemble it myself. It’s a little awkward to load into the SUV because it wants to unfold but I’m going to get a bungee cord to wrap around for loading. The only thing I don’t like is that the seat is narrow and things fall through the front if I’m using it to transport my meal or mail etc. So I put a scarf through and over the seat to prevent this. I don’t use the satchel thing, because I can’t get to it, being on the front. Its very nice quality and I’ve had countless comments and compliments. Others around here with the regular type walkers, say they want one like mine!

After reviewing each model offered by various manufacturers selling Upright Walkers on Amazon, I settled on the Elenker 2020 model with champagne finish. I read the product reviews on each, consulted the independent on-line reviews and found that Elenker products finished in the top three places more than any competitor.Unfortunately, the descriptions do not mention model numbers, making it hard to determine the difference between models within manufacturer’s product line. Looking closely at the photos of all models, it was difficult to notice a discernable differences between some models and competitive manufacturer’s models. This model scored just lightly above the same priced red unit (?2019 model) from Elenker.I was concerned in reading customer reviews that some users had experienced stability problems with Upright walkers from all manufacturers which caused me to focus only on models having 10-inch front wheels. I also noted that the product description mentioned that this model had plastic wheels but the manufacturer’s lifetime warranty sold me on ordering the unit anyway. The unit arrived a day early. I opened the box and placed all parts on the floor. I was surprised at the quality of the components, especially the wheels which are metal, not plastic. Assembly looked straight forward so I proceeded without referencing the instructions only to find that I had installed the wheel mounts on the opposite side from where they were meant to be. I quickly referred to the assembly pictures and found my second surprise. Several reviewers had commented that the images on the assembly card were too small to be of value. Elenker must have listened because the images on my card were large and clear enough to easily follow.I have been using the unit for six days, including days with multiple opportunities to fold and carry the unit to various locations. During normal use, I have the height extended to it’s fullest. One reviewer mentioned that there was not a means to assist oneself in rising from the seated position. I can see where shorter users would have some difficulty with this. For those users who can use the seat with the uprights compressed to the shortest position, the arm rests can be used to provide assistance in standing from the seated position. There are two ways of preparing the unit for transport. Each requires the unit to be compressed to it’s 11 inch compressed width. One is to release the clamps that hold the uprights to the wheel frame and fold the uprights toward the rear. The second is to compress the uprights to their shortened height and store flat. The length required can be further shortened by folding the hand brake assemblies inward toward the center of the compressed unit. The following are the measurements that I achieved with each method.Length required to transport1: Releasing holding clamp and folding the uprights rearward:Fig. A: Leaving the hand brake assemblies extended: 49.5 inchesFig. B: Folding the hand brake assemblies inward: 43 inches2: Folding both sides together and securing with the provided clip assemblyFig C: Leaving the hand brake assemblies extended: 44 inchesFig D: Folding the hand brake assemblies inward: 40 inchesThe unit weighs around 23 pounds which I can still manage, others may have difficulty lifting and placing it into a car or SUV.I do have two suggestions for the manufacturer to consider.1. Problem: When shopping and trying to place articles into the bag’s forward position while standing at the rear of the seat can be painful.Solution: Attach a 1 inch by 8-inch Velcro cinch strap to the center of each side panel of the detachable polyester storage bag. This would enable it to be placed on the seat and secured to the uprights, allowing the bag to be conveniently located while shopping. I will be using cinch straps to secure a folding, canvas shopping basket as a temporary solution while seeking a better solution.2. Problem: Having the cane cup and retaining strap on only one side of the walker may be difficult for some users having limited mobility.Solution: Add a second mount for the cane cup and retaining Velcro so that the cane can be mounted on the most convenient side of a user.RECCOMENDATION: I recommend this walker with the strong suggestion that common sense be applied while using the walker. Remember that this unit has a higher center of gravity than a typical walker. Care should be taken to avoid uneven surfaces, and to use caution when having to navigate over uneven surfaces.

I’ve had my walker for approximately four months now, and I’m satisfied with the ease of use. The one thing I am most pleased with is the way it collapses for transport, which allows me to go shopping and not have to sit and wait in the vehicle. My only negative would be, that I would like to have a locking system on the brakes.
