The primary difference between this type of rollator and most of the rest is that you rest your forearms on it and kind of lean forward rather than holding a pair of arms in front of you.if this is right for you or not is going to depend on a couple of things.Do you need a rollator for balance? Are you mostly walking fine on your own but want something like this in front of you in case you lose your footing so you have it to rely on?If so, this is probably overkill.Do you need a rollator because you would lack or have a very difficult time with mobility if you didn’t have one?If so, this might be right for you. If you have back issues or leg issues that prevent you from fully supporting your body while you walk and you need to lean on something, traditional rollators can be difficult because you’re basically relying on your arm and chest muscles to help support your upper body by leaning down on the handles of the rollator you’re using.Whith this one, you rest your forearms on it and lean forward a little. The feeling is a bit like leaning against a counter that’s on wheels. You walk forward and the counter moves forward with you. You need to stop, you put the brakes on and the counter stops. It puts absolutely no stress or strain on your upper body.I have an older family member going through long-term recovery after an unplanned hip replacement that has been having trouble walking both due to issues with balance and with pain when standing on her own and this is perfect. It also folds super flat.Assembly was easy and it feels sturdy with the large wheels moving easily. While not the most expensive, this is obviously a more pricey model than many you can find here on Amazon but after having tried it myself and then after seeing her walk with it, I’d say it’s well worth it if you’d benefit from the support it provides.
