This is a wide heavy duty wheel chair, but most importantly it is constructed differently than the cheaper (Invacare) products. Because the lower side frame rails are formed with a zee, the x brace in the center clears the seat pad when individual is seated for long periods. This translates into no bed sores!!! The cheaper units have a center cross x brace that is just under the seat pad and the individual is like sitting on a small pipe all day. How comfortable can that be.
