This is the second one of these I’ve purchased. The first one I purchased could only be used while sitting down, and I quickly discovered that wasn’t the only thing I didn’t like it about it. This one definitely outshines the other one in ALL the right ways!! I have a sit to stand desk in my office so, naturally, I love that this one can be used not only sitting down but also standing, as I frequently change positions throughout my day. It was probably one of the easiest things I’ve ever put together too. One of things about the other one that I hated was that it would go automatically so I didn’t really feel like I was getting a workout, more or less than I just had this thing in my way under my desk because my feet wouldn’t stay on it while it took off on its own. This one however doesn’t have that problem at all! You are completely in charge of how fast or slow you want to go and as soon as you start moving it will start tracking your speed, distance, time, and calories burned. It even lets you choose the amount of resistance you’d like with levels that go from 1 to 8 and can be changed with the twist of a nob. The LED display screen easily pops out so that you can change its direction based on if you are using it sitting or standing, if you so wanted to, and so that you can replace the batteries when needed. It also comes with 2 resistance bands that you can connect to the base and use to incorporate a bit of arm workout in while you’re at it. I know when I first considered getting one of these I wasn’t sure how effective it would be, my thought process was “how much work can I really get done while using an elliptical? Will I even be able to focus on typing and working while also moving up and down?” I’m excited to say that hasn’t been an issue at all. This fits perfectly under my desk and I can stand on it while I have my desk lifted and it’s been super simple and easy use while also concentrating. I will say the first time I got on it I was a little nervous I was going to fall, but I believe that had more to do with the shoes I wore that day. Once I got the hang of it its been smooth ever since. I think I’ve spent 95% of my day standing on it and using it throughout my work day. It’s also nice that I have the ability to stand on it without moving as well for when I need to concentrate on something work related, and then I can just start back up when I’m ready. Never even have to get off.

This exerciser works great when you are sitting to use it. It is rather difficult for standing and using unless you are holding on to a chair. The handles for holding onto are very difficult to hold and walk with. Holding onto something stationary while using this is best. If you are sitting at a desk or on the couch or a chair then it is easy to keep the legs moving with this exerciser. I will be using this sitting mostly since that is the easiest way to use it. I gives you a good workout though and does not take up too much space.

The key words about this product for me are “under desk” exerciser or elliptical. In other words when I know I’ve got to spend time on a desk, writing or as a reading for hours at a time, this is a perfect way to keep the body slightly in motion to prevent stagnation. It’s also a great way to wean my couch potatoes tendencies away from be totally sedentary when watching TV.This exerciser requires minor assembly as a crossbar at foot of the unit and the two large foot paddles need to be bolted in. All bolts and the required wrench are included. Assembly only takes a few minutes. As a unit, this is extremely sturdy built. The two pedals/feet platforms are very large. If your foot is 13.5 inches long it will still be able to completely rest on the pedal/platform. There is a large adjustment knob that controls the amount of resistance felt as you pedal. The levels go from “1” up to “8” which is the hardest level. Part of the base support for this exerciser is a metal base plate. This makes for a very stable base, allowing this to be used when the user is sitting in a chair or the user can be standing up on the pedals/platform. When in use, this is almost completely quiet. I have other equipment and bicycles that I can use when I know I can devote my time to physical fitness, but when I’ve got to be don’t something else, this is a good way to keep physically active. The only minor fault is that when you are using the two resistance bands for support when standing. Each left and right side band is mounted at the end of the cross bar. Currently it’s easy for the pedals to rub into these bands when they are pulled straight up. If the base crossbar where 2 to three inches wider then there would be no contact from the pedal as they move past the attached resistance band.
