Description
This table with 30″ x 15″ molded composite top is a smart alternative to wood, which over time has the potential to crack or peel, creating sharp edges and a breeding ground for bacteria.

Back in 1910, A.L. Mills founded Northwest Garment Factory and began making aprons for workers in the Chicago stockyards. Soon his aprons found their way to a group of nuns who were doing double duty as seamstresses at a nearby hospital. The nuns asked A.L if he could make hospital garments – surgeons’ gowns and nursing uniforms – so they could stop sewing and spend more time caring for patients. He said yes and the business was transformed.
Almost two decades later, A.L.’s son, Irving, took over. When World War II broke out, he added general medical supplies to his garment offerings, and the business transformed again, becoming Mills Hospital Supply Company.
Today, Medline Industries, LP. is a fourth generation, family-owned company and the largest privately held manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies in the US. And, we’re still happily headquartered in the Chicagoland area.
Our story continues with you.

Very sturdy and easy to put together. Table top is completely level and raises up and down smoothly with the lever. It is used for an elderly person who needs to keep legs elevated, and the tray table is positioned in front of the recliner chair. It is roomy enough to put a 15.6″ laptop and 2 external speakers on it so he can watch things on YouTube, etc., while his legs are elevated. When his feet are down, though the bottom portion of the tray table doesn’t slide under his recliner to bring the table closer, he scoots forward in the recliner chair with pillows to support his back so that he can use the tray table to eat meals off of. There is a smooth lip all along the edge of the table to keep things from rolling off, and it is low profile so there is no discomfort if the forearms rest on the edge. This table is a great buy at $59.99 at the time of purchase.

I purchased this in anticipation of knee surgery. I ended up having a long period of time after purchase before the surgery because the date was changed, so I have had the opportunity to use this table as someone with a disability and stuck in bed and as a “healthy individual”! Its been a useful product in both cases. It works in a chair, but it is great also over the bed. I am using it at this moment to type on my computer while lying in bed (not a hospital bed-regular bed with box springs) and it is very comfortable. I noted at least one reviewer said they could not use it in bed, so I don’t know why they had that problem and for me, it has not been a problem at all. It works like a table in a hospital-very easy to manipulate. The wheels are easy to roll and the lifting and lowering does not take effort. I like too that it has locks on two of the wheels-which comes in handy. It has enough room for a laptop, as well as a cup and other stuff. It has indented circles for two cups on the left edge. The base and the table top are sturdy. I will definitely continue to use this table even after rehab! If you need a rolling table for bed or seat, I recommend this product highly.

Medline Overbed Table, Composite TopI took delivery of this table with apprehension because I had just sent back a piece of junk I bought here made by Drive Medical. The Drive Medical table was a disaster, had incorrect drawings on the instruction page and after nearly 3 hours assembling it, it wouldn’t stay in the up position.I needed a heavy weight table because I wanted to put my 27″ computer (21 pounds) on top of it so I could use it in bed. This table can hold up to 50 pounds where most others for sale could handle 25 pounds or 40 pounds. I also wanted a table that didn’t tilt since I had a previous computer fall to the floor because the table it was replacing didn’t lock into place. This table is well made using heavy gauge steel. It assembled in 20 minutes and Medline even included all the tools I needed to assemble it. The directions were clear and included pictures not just incorrect drawings. The top glides up and down smooth and easily. It rolls well on the wood floor but needs a little extra effort on carpet. The wheels are typical of these products and sometimes I have to move the table in an oval until the wheels are going in the direction I want. The table just feels solid and strong and I am very happy with it. Oh, here is a tip. If you are placing a heavy computer or monitor on an overbed table, invest in some c-clamps to secure it to the table. It’s worth the $5.
